Officially welcoming our flagship store, Lidl, to Parr Bridge Retail park

We are extremely proud of our portfolio expansion with the addition of Lidl to Parr Bridge Retail Park, who now occupy the largest plot on the development. Lidl celebrated its opening at the beginning of the year on February 11th. 

The development forms part of Lidl’s £1.3 billion investment plans across Great Britain throughout 2021 and 2022. The supermarket facilities include a 1,256m² sales area, bakery, abundant parking for both cars and bicycles, customer toilets and a cutting edge electric charging point.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Nick Harvey, commented on the exciting expansion: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing our new store to Parr Bridge. It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we are proud to serve the local community at this time.” 

Contribution to local community prosperity is a key aim of Flexdane when developing and we are delighted to report that the new store has generated 40 permanent jobs for the local people. As more businesses join the Parr Bridge development, the local hub of Tyldesley is prospering economically and we are thrilled that the Lidl store is as widely celebrated by the Lidl team, as it is by us as developers and the community surrounding it.

Throughout the past six month period, both employees and staff at Lidl had to follow precise procedures of social distancing and other Covid safe measures. As Covid measures lift we are pleased to see people shopping with confidence in a safe environment.
